The Mrs. Technology Podcast is where we break down the technology shaping our world, in plain language, for people who do not have a computer science degree. We cover what matters, what is hype, and what you can actually use at work or in your career this week.
What we cover
Each episode is a focused conversation or solo breakdown on one of the topics below:
- AI and machine learning — what is real, what is marketing, what to use right now. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and the open-source models worth your time.
- Software development — what entry-level engineers actually do, how coding interviews really work, and what frameworks are worth learning in 2026.
- Smart home tech — Matter, Home Assistant, Thread, and the practical reality of getting all your devices to play nicely together.
- Tech careers — breaking in without a degree, switching from one role to another, salary negotiation, and how to know when it is time to leave.
- Python for non-developers — vibe coding, automation scripts you can ship in a weekend, and how to use Python at work even if your job title is not “engineer.”
Who it is for
This podcast is for the curious. Specifically, if any of these sound like you, you will probably like it here:
- You are considering a move into tech and want an honest take on what the day-to-day actually looks like.
- You already work in tech but in a non-engineering role — product, design, marketing, ops, sales — and want to understand what your engineering teammates are doing.
- You use AI tools at work and want to keep up without drowning in hype.
- You set up a smart home in 2024, broke something, and now you are skeptical of every new protocol announcement.
Episode format
Episodes are short — usually 20 to 35 minutes — and respect your time. The default format is a solo breakdown with one specific, useful takeaway. Roughly once a month we do a longer interview episode with a working technologist, hiring manager, or career-switcher with an interesting story.
We do not do panel episodes, we do not read sponsor copy in our own voice, and we do not publish for the sake of a publishing schedule. If there is not something useful to say, we will say so and save the slot for next week.
